I have read this quote several times, but I am not sure from whom it originated. But, I do wholeheartedly agree with the sentiments of the quote.
“Leaders are dealers in hope.”unsure of origin
Times like these tend to expose poor leaders and refine good leaders. One mark of a good leader is that they are a source of calm and stability in the midst of the storm – both large and small. People look to them as a model of how to react to a situation.
Please understand that I am not talking about false hope nor a “Pollyanna” type approach, but a stability, a willingness to face the storm with calm and determination. That is what people need to see.
So, please think about what you are modeling to the people you lead. Are you facing the storm with calm and determination? Are you hope filled?
